Via Alpina Maps/Cartographies numériques

2 choices : You either get paper maps that are the best but heavy and expensives (when you need to purchase a lot of them)

When going for long hiking Alpine trail numeric maps are the best option.

Go paperless and gather the numeric maps yourself.

Why do it yourself ?..it is a great way to visualize where you will be hiking through, spot difficulties and be able to plan accordingly hard days and less hard days.

Get maps, use them to prepare pre-itinerary, locate alternative routes, locate accomodations (camping sites, gites, etc..), locate potential water/food supplies and you will have more time and fun Meeting the Locals 🙂

Here are below the tools used to gather thoses precious maps of the via alpina trail that was hiked. Also used the maps gathering time to locate alternative trails and be able to adjust the pre-itinerary before departure (maps scale goes from 1:25000 to 1:20000)
