Day 12 : Refuge de Pousterle – Briancon 22nd June 2013

Nice and quiet night up at the plateau de Poustrele area. Woke up 6:50am and packed all and started looking for sunshine at 7:10am

Reached Col de Pousterle 1763m 7:20am. Nice view on the Ecrins national park there too.

Going down to Les Vigneaux. Lowest point at 1100m. Got there at 8:30am.

Via Alpina is going to Vallouise from there. I have hiked the GR54 Tour des Ecrins last summer. I know the trail in between Vallouise and Monetier les Bains (don’t want to walk it again that soon)

Beautiful Lac de l’Eychauda there, it worth going.

Leaving the Via Alpina at Les Vigneaux at 10:30am following GR50 steeply until it reached le bois du clot 1573m at 11:15am

Going up still (little bit) then down towards Bouchier now in the woods.GR50 still.

At Bouchier nice little village with stone houses 12am 1500m

GR50 goes up to Puy st andre (marked 4h from Bouchier) but decide to follow down GR653D (camino de santiago) to reach Briancon the easy way.

Reached Prelles 12:50am by road 😦

lots of road on camino de santiago trail. GR653D is no exception

“You cure the head by the foot” said to me once a Belgium camino friend.

Get in Briancon quite early : 3:30pm

Meet a guy getting logs in for the winter. Talkative retired man. Told me where Luc Alphand was living :-),etc… (videotaped it)

Did some laundry + internet shit and get a bed at Gite “Le petit phoque” 16,8 euros (1km off Briancon) on the GR5

Tomorrow should be going on the GR5C and crash somewhere….

Got fresh clean clothes, food and well rested. Weather should remain fine and clear for the next couple of days

Distance walked : 27.5km
Walking time : 6h
Resting time : 3h20
Altitude : 1346m
